As it’s the start of a new year, people are wondering what F1 drivers are confirmed for 2025.

Well, you’ve come to the right place.

We've already covered the F1 2025 race calendar but in this blog, you’ll discover what drivers are confirmed for the F1 in 2025 and for what teams.

What F1 Drivers Are Confirmed for 2025?

Will there be any team swapping for drivers in 2025 or are they remaining loyal? Let's find out!

Alpine

British team Alpine is part of the Renault group. Pierre Gasly has been with the team since 2023 and has signed a contract to continue there until 2026.

However, Esteban Ocon has left the team after five years. The team’s current reserve driver, Jack Doohan, will be taking this spot.

Australian driver, Doohan, is just 21 years old and said:

“I am so happy to secure promotion into a full-time race seat in 2025 with BWT Alpine F1 Team. I am very grateful for the trust and belief of the team’s senior management.

“There is so much work ahead to be prepared and ready and I will give my best in the meantime to absorb as much information and knowledge to be ready for the step up.

“It’s an exciting moment, a proud day for my family, and I look forward to taking it all in and pushing hard behind the scenes.”

Let's see if he lives up to expectations!

Aston Martin

Another British F1 team, Aston Martin isn’t making any changes to its drivers in 2025.

So, you can expect to see Fernando Alonso and Lance Stroll back in the hot seats.

However, Alonso has shared that he believes this may be his last contract - will this be the last time we see him on the track?

Ferrari

Now, we don’t think anyone saw this move coming!

Even before the 2024 season started, it was confirmed Lewis Hamilton would be moving to Ferrari from Mercedes in 2025. But, which driver would he be replacing?

Of course, Charles Leclerc isn’t moving from the team meaning Hamilton is replacing Carlos Sainz. Will the seven-time World Champion bring the same energy to Ferrari?

Only time will tell…

Haas

Nico Hulkenberg returned to the F1 grid in 2023 but is departing from Haas at the end of this season. He’s actually joining Kick Sauber for 2025.

His teammate, Kevin Magnussen, is also out of contract at the end of this year!

So, which F1 drivers are confirmed for 2025’s Haas team?

Well, Oli Bearman and Alpine’s Esteban Ocon will be filling the other Haas seat.

Kick Sauber

Speaking of Kick Sauber, we now know that Hulkenberg will be a driver for this team in 2025.

20-year-old Brazilian driver Gabriel Bortoleto will be joining him - making his debut in the sport! He surely made a mark as he beat the current driver Valtteri Bottas for the seat.

Does Kick Sauber think joining experience with naivety will make a dynamic duo?

Is anyone else sad that we won’t be seeing any more fun F1 helmets from Bottas?

McLaren

We know what you’re thinking: Surely McLaren can’t disrupt the momentum of Norris and Piastri?

Well, you’re right!

It has been confirmed that both of them have extended their contracts with the team until at least 2026.

Mercedes

In 2023, George Russell signed a two-year contract meaning he will remain with Mercedes next year.

Of course, current driver Lewis Hamilton will now be moving to Ferrari, leaving his seat free for the taking…

Mercedes protegee, Kimi Antonelli, will become Russell’s teammate and make his F1 debut. He said:

“It is an amazing feeling to be announced as a Mercedes works driver alongside George for 2025.

“Reaching F1 is a dream I’ve had since I was a small boy - I want to thank the team for the support they’ve given me in my career so far and the faith they’ve shown in me.

“I am still learning a lot, but I feel ready for the opportunity. I will be focused on getting better and delivering the best possible results for the team.”

Red Bull

Perhaps the most anticipated news of the entire year, who would be driving with Verstappen for Red Bull in 2025?

They kept us waiting long enough!

It has finally been announced that Liam Lawson will be taking Sergio Perez’s seat for the 2025 season.

Do we feel sorry for Perez? Sure, but he should’ve driven better!

Williams

In 2025, Alex Albon will be entering his fourth season with the Williams team and is set to continue driving with the team until 2026l.

Williams has announced that Carlos Sainz will be Albon’s teammate for 2025 after intense speculation about his next seat.

Red Bull’s second team now has a seat missing with Lawson moving to the first string!

This empty seat will be taken by Isack Hadjar who is moving up from Formula 2. He will be racing alongside team favourite Yuki Tsunoda!

Although will he have a seat after next year, who knows?
