Red Bull - UK
- Location of team headquarters: Milton Keynes, UK
- When was the team founded: 2005
- National flag the team uses: Austria
It may be one of the newest F1 teams, but Red Bull has surely made a mark on the industry. Although it uses the Austrian national flag when the team is on the podium, the Red Bull headquarters is based in the UK. Specifically in Milton Keynes.
Fun fact: The base was originally used by Jackie Stewart and his Stewart racing team back in the 90s.

Mercedes - UK
- Location of team headquarters: Brackley, UK
- When was the team founded: 1954
- National flag the team uses: Germany
Yes, the Mercedes F1 team was founded in 1954, but the Mercedes team we know today actually started in 2010. This is after its owners bought Brawn GP. Due to this acquisition, the team moved into Brawn’s premises in Brackley.
In 2022, the team actually renamed the road that leads into the base ‘Lauda Drive’, in memory of one of the best Formula One drivers, Niki Lauda.

McLaren - UK
- Location of team headquarters: Woking, UK
- When was the team founded: 1963
- National flag the team uses: United Kingdom
Unlike other F1 teams, McLaren has been based in Woking for the majority of their years. However, in 2004 the McLaren owners and team moved to a new building: McLaren Technology Centre (MTC). This is still located in Woking though.
Any true Formula One can recognise that innovative yin-and-yang-inspired building and lake from a mile away!
The facility is known for having some of its iconic cars and trophies dotted around - making it almost like a museum.

Ferrari - Italy
- Location of team headquarters: Maranello, Italy
- When was the team founded: 1950
- National flag the team uses: Italy
Maranello is known for being the home of F1’s oldest team. And there are reminders of the team all across the town.
As one of the only few teams to be 100% based outside of the UK, the team’s first-ever car was actually built in the same factory it uses today! (Probably with updated equipment, though).
The company opened a private test track - Fiorano - in 1972, super close to the factory.
Sure, things sound very traditional for the Ferrari team, but if it ain’t broke…

Williams - UK
- Location of team headquarters: Grove, UK
- When was the team founded: 1977
- National flag the team uses: United Kingdom
In 1996, the Williams team moved across Oxfordshire - from Didcot to Grove. The team remains at the same base to this date.
The base does have a strange backstory though…
Back in the day, it was originally a site for the Admiralty - also known as the UK government’s department for the command of the Royal Navy. However, it perhaps wasn’t the best decision as the base is 70 miles away from the coast. With this in mind, the base was sold to Janssen Pharmaceuticals.
It was then purchased by Williams who is said to have paid £5 million for the site of 32 acres.

Alpine - UK and France
- Location of team headquarters: Enstone, UK and Viry-Chatillon, France
- When was the team founded: 2021
- National flag the team uses: France
Some people just have to make it complicated, don’t they?!
We understand that having two headquarters can be confusing but it does make sense once you know the facts. The chassis and managerial side of Alpine is based in the UK at Enstone, whereas the Viry-Chatillon division located in Paris focuses on the engine.
Just like the other team’s bases, this one also has a crazy backstory. The Enstone site was originally a quarry! However, former F1 team Benetton converted it into a base back in 1992.
Since then, it has changed hands numerous times and is now the home to Alpine.

Aston Martin - UK
- Location of team headquarters: Silverstone, UK
- When was the team founded: 2021
- National flag the team uses: United Kingdom
The Aston Martin Formula One team only began in 2021 but the Silverstone headquarters has been around for decades. Of course, Silverstone is iconic with F1 fans around the world - with many fans taking road trips to the Silverstone track.
The factory can actually be traced back all the way back to 1991 when Jordan Grand Prix moved there for the team's debut. As the way it usually is in F1, the Jordan team has rebranded multiple times and is now officially Aston Martin.
In 2023, the team moved into an upgraded campus that is purpose-built for the team’s needs.

Stake (Kick Sauber) - Switzerland
- Location of team headquarters: Hinwil, Switzerland
- When was the team founded: 1993
- National flag the team uses: Switzerland
Now, buckle in for this one - it’s about to get complicated!
It’s no secret that Sauber has been through some pretty hefty changes since it began all the way back in 1993. But it has remained in the same headquarters since the very first day!
However, with Audi taking over the Sauber team in 2026 it is expected that the brand new Audi F1 team will have a similar set-up to Alpine. With it operating between its facility in Switzerland and a power base unit in Germany.

Racing Bulls - Italy
- Location of team headquarters: Faenza, Italy
- When was the team founded: 2024
- National flag the team uses: Italy
Is there an F1 team that has had more names than Racing Bulls? We don’t think so!
It may not be as illustrious as its sister team, Red Bull Racing, but it isn’t a ‘bad’ team either. The team has had some controversy. For example, in 2024 the team dropped driver Daniel Riccardo after the Singapore Grand Prix. However, this did give Liam Lawson, a previous Formula Two driver, a chance in F1.
Lawson was moved to sister company Red Bull Racing for the 2025 season (let’s see how long that lasts!) so the team brought in another F2 graduate: Isack Hadjar.

Haas - USA, UK, and Italy
- Location of team headquarters: Kannapolis, USA, Banbury, UK, Maranello, Italy
- When was the team founded: 2016
- National flag the team uses: USA
Forget about saving the best until last, more like saving the most complicated until last!
Haas writes its own rule book as it has three headquarters all based around the world. So far from each other in fact, that they’re on two different continents.
It is the sister team to NASCAR’s Stewart-Haas Racing, so having a homebase in the same place - Kannapolis - makes sense, to be fair. However, due to a European-heavy F1 race calendar, a European base was thought to be practical. So they set up shop in Banbury, UK. However, as the team uses engines from Ferrari, the team also has a base in Maranello.
So, simply put: The USA does admin, the UK handles the operations, and Italy designs and builds.
Like we said, simple really…
