The Top 10 Best F1 Helmets

The Top 10 Best F1 Helmets

F1 helmets may come second fiddle to the cars, but that doesn’t make them less important to the driver.

As one of the most valuable items of Formula 1 memorabilia, over the years there’s been some incredible F1 driver helmets which have dominated the track.

But which are the best F1 helmets?

Strap in, we’re about to find out!

The Best F1 Helmets - Ranked!

Our team has picked their top 10 F1 helmets - will you agree?

10. Sir Jackie Stewart - Forever

Starting with a classic, how could we not include Sir Jackie Stewart’s iconic F1 helmet on this list?

The iconic tartan stripe helmet has been his signature forever - maybe it’s now a lucky ritual?

Either way, it’s a helmet that will be remembered for years to come.

9. Lewis Hamilton - Japan, 2023

This Lewis Hamilton F1 helmet just had to make our list - look at it!

His usual Mercedes colours have been given a chrome effect. Plus with the additional LED visor, you could see him from space!

This is definitely one of the best F1 helmets.

8. Valtteri Bottas - Pre-season, 2023

If you’re thinking the person on the helmet looks familiar, you’d be right.

Bottas’ own girlfriend designed this F1 helmet - based on him!

Now the mullet and moustache make sense…

7. Lando Norris - Italy, 2020

Get a slice of this!

For the Italian Grand Prix in Italy 2020, Lando was, well, Lando. This pizza helmet really does make you smile (and get your stomach rumbling).

One thing’s for sure, we want a pizza that helmet…

6. Danny Ricciardo - Canada, 2024

Sure, this F1 helmet is pretty recent, but how could we resist? Literally…

This helmet pays homage to Canada’s beloved maple syrup.

Maybe the honey badger tried maple for a change?

5. Alex Albon - Britain, 2022

Anyone who is a fan of Alex knows about his pets… and if they didn’t, they certainly did after this helmet!

Dedicated to his beloved 10 pets, this F1 helmet has them all in cartoon form.

You know what they say, animals are a driver’s best friend…

4. Zhou Guanyu - Singapore, 2022

Did you know Zhou loves bubble tea?

You did now!

For the 2022 Singapore race, Guanyu dedicated his helmet to his beloved bubble tea… as you do…

3. Lewis Hamilton - Japan, 2022

The 8, sorry, 7-time world champion is back again!

This time, it’s for the psychedelic print he designed, again, for Japan.

In typical Lewis fashion, this print was mirrored on some street-wear he was wearing in the days surrounding the race.

Would you wear this print?

 2. Sebastian Vettel - Singapore, 2012

If you’ve never seen this F1 helmet before, it’s probably because the FIA banned the design from that year on!

Vettel added LED lights across the top of his helmet that were activated as he raced round Marina Bay Circuit.

Some people said it looked like stars, but to us it was a halo! Maybe they were making room for a different type of F1 halo?

1. Lando Norris - Hungary, 2024

Maybe the most recent helmet on our list (but certainly one the best F1 helmets) this one comes with a story!

Any F1 fan knows how Lando broke the Hungarian trophy in 2023. Well, this year he decided to apologise… by designing his helmet to mirror the pattern.

What do you think, apology accepted?
